The school board Independent School District #561 met in regular session on Tuesday, March 18th, at 7:00 p.m. in the community center. The following members were present: John Lovly, Neil Jensen, Tim Hruby, Rozlynn Johnsrud, Joe Rubischko and Leah Bothum. Also present: Principal Carlson, Superintendent Loberg, Business Manager Kelsie Steiger-Krein, GEA Members – Mrs. Jen Sargent and Mrs. Lindsay Rystad and Community Member Madyson Paulson.
A motion was made by Jensen, seconded by Hruby, to approve the March 18, 2025, meeting agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Hruby, seconded by Lovly, to approve the February 18, 2025 regular meeting minutes as amended. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Rubischko, seconded by Lovly, to approve payments for checks #47195-47298 and wire payments as listed in report #3.1 A & B, as listed in report 3.1.1. Motion was carried unanimously.
Financial reports were reviewed. Superintendent Loberg reported the district shows an investment balance of $2,176,276.65 on February 28, 2025. (See reports #3.0 attached to the official board minutes).

Student Council Reports:
Principal Carlson stated the Student Council Blood Drive was very successful. Principal Carlson and Mrs. Lacey Hruby took all Student Council Members to the Summit in Fosston and reported a Goodridge Student was voted onto the Division Student Council Board.
Goodridge Education Association Report:
Mrs. Jen Sargent gave an update on the Close Up trip and the upcoming school play that will be taking place on March 27th and 28th. Mrs. Jen Sargent provided the board with an update that the elementary classes will be attending a play in Bemidji and the Elementary Spring Music Program will be on April 11th. Mrs. Jen Sargent gave an update on the new reading rewards program. Mrs. Jen Sargent also reported that the staff are completing the Read Act training soon. Mrs. Sargent also said that the GEA will be working on a retirement party for Mrs. Lois Anderson.

Instructional Reports:
Principal Carlson gave an update on the 2025-2026 Master Schedule.

New Business:
Superintendent Loberg provided the board with an update on the Summer Project List.
A motion was made by Jensen, seconded by Johnsrud, to approve the updated Community Center Lease Agreement as presented in report #8.2. Motion carried unanimously.
Personnel:
A motion was made by Rubischko, seconded by Johnsrud, to accept the resignation of Connie Stinar, Head Cook with regrets. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Bothum, seconded by Hruby, to approve the transfer of Alyssa Nelson, from VPK to RTI/Title 1 Teacher beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Jensen, seconded by Bothum, to approve the transfer of Jen Srnsky, from Dishwasher to Head Cook. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Bothum, seconded by Jensen, to approve the hire of Tami Comstock, Dishwasher. Motion carried unanimously.
A motion was made by Lovly, seconded by Johnsrud, to accept the resignation of Lois Anderson, Second Grade Teacher with regrets. Motion carried unanimously.
The board received a desire to negotiate the wage and benefits from the GEA for the 2025-2027 contract.
Donations:
A motion was made by Hruby, seconded by Rubischko, to approve the donations as listed in report #10.1. Motion carried unanimously.

Open Forum: None
Member Lovly thanked Mrs. Lois Anderson for her years of service to the Goodridge School District.
Administrative Reports:
Principal Carlson gave an update on Prom and the Post Prom Party. Principal Carlson reported that the ACT is being scheduled in the next week. Principal Carlson reported students in grades 6th-12th will be receiving information on Internet Safety. Principal Carlson gave an update on the Ball Benefit that is taking place on March 28. Principal Carlson wanted to Thank Mrs. Lois Anderson for her years of employment. Principal Carlson gave an update on the Charger Classroom and School Expectations.
Superintendent Loberg thanked Mrs. Lois Anderson for her 33 years of outstanding employment to the Goodridge School. Superintendent Loberg also gave an update on the current open positions. Superintendent Loberg reported that he recently attended the Region 8 MASA Day at the Capitol and the district is going through the 2 year HITA bid process this spring. Superintendent Loberg also provided an update on the annual Release Day, CRDC Reporting, and the upcoming building project. He noted that currently the groundbreaking ceremony is planned for May 22nd, which is the last day of the school year.
The next regular meeting was set for Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
