RESOLUTION APPROVING A
VACATION OF AN ALLEY WHICH LIES IN LOTS 2, 3, AND 4 OF OWNER’S REARRANGEMENT OF BLOCKS 61 AND 62
WHEREAS, The City Council of Thief River Falls, MN, after appropriate notice, has determined to vacate all that part of the Alley lying south of First Street and between Lots 2, 3 and 4 of Owner’s Re-Arrangement of Blocks 61 and 62 and Adjacent Lands of the Original Township of Thief River Falls, MN, according to the official plat of record on file in the office of the County Recorder of Pennington and the State of Minnesota, more partlcularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast comer of said Lot 3; thence North 89 degrees 59 minutes 00 seconds East, assumed bearing, along the south line of First Street, as platted in said Re-Arrangement of Blocks 61 and 62 and Adjacent Lands of the Original Township of Thief River Falls, MN, a distance of 12.00 feet to the northwest corner of said Lot 2; thence South 00 degrees 02 minutes 16 seconds West, along the west line of said Lot 2, a distance of 59.00 feet to the southwest comer of said Lot 2; thence South 89 degrees 59 minutes 00 seconds West, along the north line of said Lot 4, a distance of 12.00 feet to the southeast corner of said Lot 3; thence North 00 degrees 02 minutes 16 seconds East, along the east line of said Lot 3, a distance of 59.00 feet to the point of beginning.
The above-described parcel contains 0.02 acres, more or less, and is subject to easements, restrictions, or reservations of record, if any.
AND WHEREAS, after complying with appropriate public notice, posting and notice to affected property owners, a public hearing was held on April 8, 2026 before the City Planning Commission at the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 405 Third Street East, Thief River Falls, MN 56701, and all persons interested were given an opportunity to be heard;
AND WHEREAS, it appears that it will be in the best interest of the City to vacate such alley;
AND WHEREAS, a majority of the members of the City Council voted and concur in this resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the alley which lies south of First street and between Lots 2, 3 and 4 of Owner’s Re-Arrangement of Blocks 61 and 62 and Adjacent Lands of the Original Townsite of Thief River Falls, MN, according to the official plat of record on file in the office of the County Recorder of Pennington and the State of Minnesota, more particularly descnbed as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of said Lot 3; thence North 89 degrees 59 minutes 00 seconds East. assumed bearing, along the south line of First Street, as platted in said Re-Arrangement of Blocks 61 and 62 and Adjacent Lands of the Original Townsite of Thief River Falls, MN, a distance of 12.00 feet to the northwest corner of said Lot 2; thence South 00 degrees 02 minutes 16 seconds West, along the west Iine of said Lot 2, a distance of 59.00 feet to the southwest corner of said Lot 2; thence South 89 degrees 59 minutes 00 seconds West, along the north line of said Lot 4, a distance of 12.00 feet to the southeast corner of said Lot 3; thence North 00 degrees 02 minutes 16 seconds East, along the east line of said Lot 3, a distance of 59.00 feet to the point of beginning, is hereby vacated.
