Grand Rapids – Dennis Odegaard, 83, died on May 4, 2006 in Grand Rapids.
  Funeral Services for Dennis Odegaard were held on Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids.
 Dennis A. Odegaard the son of Andrew and Anna (Sandstrom) Odegaard was born on August 16, 1922 in Malung.
  Dennis attended school in Malung and in Roseau. He and Phyllis (Setran) were united in marriage on June 19, 1949 in Badger, at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church. They were married for 56 years and had three children, Muriel, Murray, and Andy.
  Dennis worked at Fikkan Pharmacy (later Wahlberg Drug) for 37 years. He later worked at Polaris Industries in Roseau for 11 years, retiring when he was 80 years old, in 2002. He volunteered at the Red Cross helping military personnel for over 30 years. He was on the Roseau Civic and Commerce Merchants Committee, coached the Fikkan Bombers Saturday morning league team, was a 4-H leader with Phyllis in Jadis, and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
  He played on the Malung softball team as a catcher, enjoyed going to their cabin in Beltrami Forest south of  Roosevelt, and their cabin at rocky Point. He liked 4-wheeling, deer hunting, fishing and hobby farming in Malung which he enjoyed growing different crops. He later rented the farm out to other farmers in the area.
  He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Roseau; daughter Muriel (David) Olin of Thief River Falls; sons, Murray (Joni) Odegaard of Grand Rapids, Andy (Kari) Odegaard of Forest Lake; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Audrey Bergan of Roseau, Lois (Ardell) Markstrom of Roseau and Sharon (Don) Fugleberg of Thief River Falls. 
 He was preceded in death by his  brother Walter Sandstrom and his parents.
