Stephen – Nellie Olson, 94, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, June 9, at the First Lutheran Church, Stephen. Interment was held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Newfolden, with Rev. Michael Schendel presiding.
Nellie (Larson) Olson was born on February 25, 1912 in Fork Township, the daughter of Nels and Ingaborg (Lundeen) Larson.. Nellie attended country school in Fork Township through eighth grade and graduated from Stephen High School. Nellie married Henning Olson of Newfolden January 5, 1952. They lived in rural Newfolden for 30 years. Henning died May 25, 1981.
In 1983, Nellie moved back to Stephen, where she resided until moving into the Good Samaritan Center in Warren on May 21, 2001. Nellie enjoyed painting, ceramics, quilting and gardening. Nellie belonged and was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Stephen, American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Citizens.
Left to mourn her passing is her sister, Inre Welker of the Good Samaritan Center, Warren; and several sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Erling, Ragn; sisters, Ethel (Albert) Johnson and Josephine Anderson.
