\"\"Brooks – Catherine LaCoursiere, 80, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Red Lake Falls.
  A Celebration of Life for Catherine “Kitty” LaCoursiere was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 28, at St. Joseph Church, Brooks,  with Father Tim Bushy presiding.  Interment will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Oklee.
  Catherine “Kitty” Louise Jennings, was born February 27, 1926 in Erie, Pa., the daughter of Jim and Sarah Jennings. She was raised and attended school at Erie, PA and graduated from Central High School in 1944 at Erie.
  On April 26, 1996, Kitty was united in marriage to Delton LaCoursiere. Delton and Kitty made Brooks their summer home and made their winter home in Mesa, Ariz. The couple enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
  Kitty attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks. She liked to sew, cook and was a gracious host. She liked to dance, loved to wear hats and was a member of the Red Hat Society of Brooks. She was an avid reader as well as a teacher of the Bible.  Kitty made many quilts and donated them to a shelter for abused children.  Her greatest gift was being a mother to her children and grandchildren.
  Catherine is survived by husband, Delton of Brooks; children, Robert (Barbara) Shampoe of Houston, Texas, Daniel (Judy) Champeaux of Sonora, Calif., Melody (Tim Lexow) Jennings of Vancouver, Wash., Crystal (Bill) Palser of Tucson, Ariz., and Sarah (Ben) Sanders of Tempe, Ariz.; step-children, Michael (Nerrisa) LaCoursiere of Duluth, Joyce (Wendell) Odegaard of Kent,  Donna (Darko) Brlobas, Scottsdale, Ariz., Brian LaCoursiere of Brooks and Mary (Michael) Koski of Tempe, Ariz.; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Maxine) Jennings of Sacramento, Calif., and sister: Dorothy Gregory of San Diego, Calif.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Jane and Gloria; and a brother, Bud.
