Inter-County Nursing Service is actively engaged in a COVID-19 outbreak response with a company contracted to work on the expansion project at Digi-Key Corporation.
In a joint decision between Digi-Key and the contracting company, operations at the Barzen Avenue expansion location were suspended for 72 hours on Friday, May 29 to allow for thorough sanitization of the building. The employees who were potentially exposed have been on quarantine since Friday, May 29 and are being monitored and supported in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health and Sanford Health. Testing for all of the contractor’s employees began on Monday, June 1 and continued through Thursday, June 4. With this mass testing, Inter-County Nursing is seeing a number of positive cases, with many of these cases presenting with no symptoms.
The situation is believed to be contained following contact tracing and the action to quarantine the contractor unit.
As COVID-19 continues to spread in our communities, we must all remain vigilant to keep those around us safe and help slow the spread of the virus. Inter-County Nursing urges the community to continue to practice good hand washing, social distancing, wear a mask, stay home as much as possible and get tested if you are feeling sick. Call your health care provider if you are having symptoms or if you have come into contact with someone with COVID-19.
