Local residents are putting their hats into the ring for city council and school district seats in Pennington County. The filing deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m.

The filing date has already passed for Pennington County Board. There is a primary election set for Tuesday, Aug. 11 for County Board District 2 and Minnesota House of Representatives District 1A. The general election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3.

As of early Monday afternoon, the following people have filed for city offices and school boards in Pennington County:

Goodridge
Gary Hasby has filed for a seat on the Goodridge City Council. A total of two council seats and the mayoral seat will be on the ballot in Goodridge. No one has filed for the other seats. Vicky Rindahl and Faye Wold currently hold the council seats. Kramer Hanson currently serves as mayor.

Goodridge School
District
Three four-year seats will be on the ballot for the Goodridge School Board. John Lovly has filed for reelection, and Jason Kotrba has filed for election as well. Terry Drangstveit and Tim Hruby currently hold two of the seats on the ballot.

St. Hilaire
So far, no one has filed for any of the three St. Hilaire City Council seats on the ballot. Those seats include mayor (currently held by Brandon Kisch) and two council seats (currently held by Bernie Huot and Tracy Kloety). The mayor serves two years, and council members serve four years.

Thief River Falls
Four seats will be on the ballot in the City of Thief River Falls. Incumbent Brian Holmer and Lee Vettleson have filed for mayor. The mayor serves for two years. Anthony Bolduc has filed for the Ward 2 seat on the ballot. Don Sollom has chosen not to seek reelection for the Ward 2 seat and is instead running for the District 2 seat on the Pennington County Board. Incumbent Jerald Brown has filed for Ward 4. A council member at-large seat is also on the ballot. Jason Aarestad currently holds that seat. Council members serve for four years.

Thief River Falls
School District
Three four-year seats will be on the ballot for the Thief River Falls School Board. Incumbent Wayne Nomeland has filed for reelection. No one filed for the other seats on the ballot. Misty Hempel and Chris Melbye currently hold those seats.
