A primary election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Local races featured on the ballot include Minnesota House of Representatives District 1A and Pennington County Board District 2. Another race, that of U.S. House of Representatives District 7, will also be on the ballot. The primary election will narrow the field of candidates to appear on the general election ballot Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The following individuals are running for the Minnesota House District 1A seat – John Burkel, Connie Lindstrom, David Lion and Brian Meehan. Burkel, Lion and Meehan are running as Republicans. Lindstrom is running as a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. They are running for the seat being vacated by Dan Fabian, who has decided not to run for reelection.
Julie Bolduc, Don Sollom and Dave Sorenson are running for the County Board District 2 seat. Cody Hempel currently holds that seat and has decided not to run for reelection.
