Thief River Falls – Arnold Wilbert Lee, 89, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at First Care Hospital in Fosston.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 3, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Pastor Mark Helgeland officiating. Interment was held at Greenwood Cemetery.
Arnold was born on February 20, 1918 in Lake Park, to Albert and Emma Lee. He left home at a young age, moved to Minneapolis and operated a street car for the public transportation department. Soon after, he graduated to the Soo Line railroad, becoming a conductor and then eventually an engineer. He remained with the railroad until his retirement many years later. He met Caroline “Keks” Jakubic in Minneapolis and in July they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
His family and friends will remember Arnold for his stories, golfing tales, and hunting experiences. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Caroline “Keks” of Thief River Falls; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Clint and William; and sisters May Lois and Norma.
He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Dr. William Larry Lee and infant son Gerald Alan Lee; brothers and sisters, Robert, Edward, Ezra, Dorothy.
