Over the past few years, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office has investigated many drug overdoses. At its meeting Tuesday, Feb. 22, the Pennington County Board approved signing a joint powers agreement with the Minnesota Anti-Heroin Task Force Program.
Sheriff Ray Kuznia explained that the program will enable the sheriff’s office to recoup some of its costs related to drug investigations, especially those involving overdoses.
County Board approved a new logo for Pennington County. The logo, which features Minnesota, Pennington County, a highway and a river will appear on letterhead and envelopes from county departments. In the past, the logo was a drawing of the Government Center.
As part of the Human Services Department consent agenda, commissioners approved eliminating daycare licensure fees. Fees were eliminated for both recently opened daycares as well as daycares renewing their licenses. In the past, the fee was $50 for one year and $75 for two years.
County Board approved renewing the license for the firewall combating unauthorized access to the county’s computer system. The two-year license costs a total of $4,100.
The next County Board meeting is scheduled Tuesday, March 8 at 10 a.m. at the Justice Center.
