Thief River Falls Free Church will host the Community Thanksgiving meal. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Free Church, 211 Arnold Ave. N. on Thursday, Nov. 23. It is free and open to everyone.
People should sign up for a delivery or in-person meal as soon as possible, so organizers have a general idea of how much food to prepare. Last year, over 400 meals were served. Organizers are expecting to serve more meals this year.
The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, a dinner roll, and dessert.
Freewill donations will be accepted, and Salvation Army Red Kettles will be set up at the serving and pickup lines.
This event is primarily funded by the Pennington County Salvation Army, Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf, and the Free Church. Significant donations from Evergreen Catering/Bakery & Legacy Event Center, and any freewill donations from the public, help make this happen.
The Free Church building is handicap accessible.
This year, the Area Food Shelf will not be distributing turkeys in food baskets due to costs, so this might be a great time to make a reservation to attend the Thanksgiving dinner at the Free Church.
Anyone interested in volunteering should visit TRFThanksgiving.com – both the meal signup and volunteer list are on the website. For any additional questions, people can email the church: office@trfefc.org, or call 218-681-3855.
