The Lincoln High School Orchestra and Franklin Middle School orchestras will perform Monday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at the LHS auditorium. The cost is $5 per person with Pre-K getting free admission. The Franklin Middle School orchestras and Lincoln High School Orchestra will present their annual Christmas Concert on Monday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. in the LHS auditorium. The cost is $5 per person with Pre-K getting free admission. All proceeds benefit the orchestra program in Thief River Falls.

The FMS Sixth Grade Orchestra will perform four songs from their book: Scarborough Fair, Classical Bash, Liza Jane, and Holiday Special. They will also perform the famous Ukrainian Bell Carol. They will finish with Frog in a Tree by Edmund J. Siennicki.

The FMS Seventh Grade Orchestra will perform Quintus by Larry Clark, and the famous Can-Can by Jaques Offenbach.

The FMS Eighth Grade Orchestra will perform Themes from Vivaldi’s Gloria and Washburn County by Wisconsinite Randy Sabian.

The combined Seventh and Eighth Grade Orchestra will perform Entrance of the Queen of Sheba by Handel featuring two solo violins. Deck the Hall of the Mountain King is a combination of Grieg’s famous Hall of the Mountain King combined with the Christmas carol Deck the Halls. They will finish with two John Williams pieces: Somewhere In My Memory from the movie Home Alone and The Olympic Spirit, written for the 1988 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The LHS Orchestra will perform Danse Infernale by Eliot Del Borgo, Nordic Invaders by Jeremy Woolstenhulme, and Themes from Concerto in A minor by Antonio Vivaldi. They will then play the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s The March of the King/Hark the Herald Angels Sing with Shelby Green playing the electric violin. They will then combine with members of the LHS band and perform an arrangement of all four movements of Beethoven’s iconic 5th Symphony.
