The $21.35 million Goodridge School District Additions and Renovations Project is off and running, with work progressing well in the new addition on the north side of the school. This 30,000 square-foot addition consists of the following: six elementary classrooms, performance gym, locker rooms, weight room, concession stands and community bathrooms.
From a constructibility standpoint, big milestones have been completed, such as precast erection, structural steel erection, roof installation, and underground MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) installation. Moving forward, interior work will continue, beginning with our slab-on-grade (throughout), Interior Framing, and MEP rough-ins. The Area C addition is tracking to be fully enclosed before frost hits the ground – this is a huge accomplishment.
Although the construction project is the main point of topic, the program manager (ICS) continues to work with Goodridge School to be sure that student and staff safety remains a high priority, throughout the construction project, with school being in session. Safety parameters are in place and are continually being maintained while the school navigates through the school year alongside construction progress.
Overall, this 16-month project has started off strong and continues to be on schedule and within budget. Substantial completion is still projected to be August 2026, which is prior to the 2026-27 school year.
