This holiday season, the elves will again work their magic as they buy gifts for kids in the Christmas for Pennington County program. Last year, the program provided gifts to 385 kids from about 162 families.
The Christmas for Pennington County trees are at Ronnings, Walmart, L & M Fleet Supply, DigiKey, Arctic Cat and Erl’s Market, all in Thief River Falls. The program, which is coordinated by Wendy Mattson, provides gifts to less fortunate kids.
Residents pick an “ornament” off of a tree and then purchase gifts for the listed child. The unwrapped gifts should be dropped off at Ace Rental in Thief River Falls by Monday, Dec. 15.
Organizations or individuals interested in helping should send Mattson a message via the Facebook page for Christmas for Pennington County.
Families who believe they are eligible for the program should submit the form to the Pennington County Human Services Department by Monday, Dec. 8 at the latest.
Fundraiser
Residents can also support the program at an upcoming fundraiser for Christmas for Pennington County.
American Legion Post 117 in Thief River Falls and friends will host Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A freewill offering will be taken for Christmas for Pennington County.
