Albuquerque, N.M. – Nancy Heacock, 56, formelry of Thief River Falls, died on November 2, 2012 at Albuquerque, N.M.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Reverend Bob Dahlen officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
Visitation will from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
Nancy Ann Battleson-Heacock was born on July 2, 1956 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Milton W. and Sylvia (Burian) Battleson.
Nancy accepted Christ at the age of 17.
Nancy graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in 1974, and later attended Compassion Christian Center Bible School in 1975. Later, Nancy moved to Raton, N.M. She met and married David Powders and to this union no children were born. The couple settled in Albuquerque, N.M. Nancy attended Albuquerque Community and Technical College, graduating as a nursing assistant and phlebotomist, as well as becoming a Licensed Real Estate Agent. She was a hostess and training assistant at Gardunos of Albuquerque.
Nancy met and married Arleigh K. Heacock in 1998, and to this union no children were born. She was a devoted member of Calvary Church of Albuquerque. Nancy was involved in the hospitality and ministry outreach. She was an avid reader, and loved gardening and reaching out to people wherever she went.
Nancy is survived by her brother, Paul (Lola) Battleson of Bloomington; two nephews, Joel M. Battleson of Prior Lake, and Brandon P. Battleson of Burnsville. She also leaves to mourn a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Sylvia Battleson and her beloved “Pooch,” Harley also preceded her in death.
Nancy’s one burning passion in life was that everyone could know the love, joy and peace of knowing her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
