    Lake Bronson – Rodger L. Hultgren, 87, of Lake Bronson, passed away at Karlstad Healthcare Center  on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 5 at 2: p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson.  Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson.  Visitation will be held at the Austin Funeral Home in Hallock on Thursday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
    Rodger was born Aug. 4, 1926 in Kenneth, to Tinko and Amelia (Olson) Hultgren.  He grew up near Lake Bronson and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
    On Aug. 4, 1950, he married Margaret Larson at her
parents (Helmer and Stella Larson) home. They settled on the family west of town Lake Bronson and lived there until 1966, when they moved into town.  Rodger worked at Urbaniak Implement from 1962 until his retirement in 1986.  Margaret passed away on June 23, 2006.  
    Rodger was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the church board.
He was also a member of the Lake Bronson Lion Club.  
    Surviving family members include his children, Bonita (Peter) Stusynski, Strandquist, Barb (Ryan) Murray, Eagan, and Randy (Tana) Hultgren, Union Lake; grandchildren, Joette (Chris) Hennen, Jade
Anderson, Taira Anderson (Brian Fontaine), Ashlea (Patrick) Brons, Alison (Travis) Pearce, Liz Murray and Chad Hultgren; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Emily, Jake, Lauryn, Colin, Damien and Camieo; brothers, Keith (Michele) Hultgren, Grand Forks, N.D., and Kenny (Darla) Hultgren, Hallock; brothers-in-law, Galen (Phyllis) Sele, Paulsbo, Wash., and Don Gilbertson, Hudson, Wis.; as well as nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; parents, Tinko and Ameilia; stepmother, Earlice Hultgren; foster parents, Levi and Alma Hultgren and a sister-in-law, Helen Gilbertson.
