Clayton A. Moran, 91

Red Lake Falls – Clayton A. Moran, 91, of Red Lake Falls, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at Greenleaf Assisted Living Center in Thief River Falls.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at 10:30  a.m.    at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, with Father Bill DeCrans officiating. Casket bearers included all of Clayton’s grandchildren. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.
Visitation will be held Tuesday Sept. 30 from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.
Clayton Alvin Moran was born Feb. 11, 1923 in Northfield, the son of Alvin James and Mollie (Ricke) Moran. He was raised in Red Lake Falls and attended country school. 
He entered the US Air force and served his country proudly during WWII and then re-enlisted in 1948 and served until 1952 during the Korean War. On May 7, 1951 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Goulet at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. Following his discharge, they returned to Huot area where they purchased farm land. He went into business with his father AJ (Kelly) Moran and eventually taking over the sodding company. He worked for Steiger farms and Torque in Thief River Falls. He then went to work for the City of Thief River Falls until his retirement.
He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Red Lake Falls American Legion and VFW. He served on the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery board. Clayton and Lorraine enjoyed square dancing, he also enjoyed cooking, gardening, woodworking and telling stories about the war, but most of all he loved the time spent with his family.
Clayton is survived by his loving wife Lorraine of 63 years; children Mike (Judy) Moran of Red Lake Falls, Nancy (Lynn) Seeger of Red Lake Falls, Joyce (Perry) Morinville of Brooks, and Joan Boprie of Fargo, N.D.; grandchildren Jeremy (Peggy) Moran and Robert (Amanda) Moran, Kelly (Bill) Kronsberg and Megan (Kevin Lundstrom) Jones, Chris (Robyn) Morinville and Jenni (Bryce) Huotari, Joe Krueger; great-grandchildren Abbigail, Annika, Abram, Amelia, Haley, Isla, Krimson, Khloe, Kooper, Alissah, Keira, Jackson, Easton, Carter, Grady, Finley; half-brother James Moran Australia, sister-in-law Bernice Goulet, brother-in-law William Persson; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Joseph Moran, Margie Persson, Alvin Jr. Moran and Dorothy Page.
