Lorraine Moran

    Thief River Falls – With her loving family at her side, Lorraine Moran of Thief River Falls, formerly of Red Lake Falls, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls at the age of 87.
    Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, Jan. 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Bill DeCrans officiating. Interment was held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake Falls.
    Lorraine Olive Goulet was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Red Lake Falls, the daughter of Theophile and Laura (Patnode) Goulet.  She was raised in Red Lake Falls and attended country school.
    On May 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to Clayton Moran at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. Following his discharge from the Air Force, they returned to Huot area, where they purchased farmland, later moving to Red Lake Falls. Lorraine and Clayton were married for 63 years until the time of his death in 2014.
    Throughout her life, Lorraine worked as a homemaker, bookkeeper for the family business, Tischart’s, Hanson’s, and Digi-Key from which she retired.
    Together, Lorraine and Clayton enjoyed square dancing. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, making arts and crafts, bingo, playing cards, doing puzzles, but most of all she loved the time spent with her family.
    She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the local homemaker’s club, and the Les-Pirouette’s square dancing group.
    Lorraine is survived by her loving children, Mike (Judy) Moran of Red Lake Falls, Nancy (Lynn) Seeger of Red Lake Falls, Joyce (Perry) Morinville of Brooks, and Joan Boprie of Fargo, N.D.; grandchildren Jeremy (Peggy) Moran and Robert (Amanda) Moran, Kelleigh (Bill) Kronsberg and Megan (Kevin Lundstrom) Jones, Chris (Robyn) Morinville and Jenni (Bryce) Huotari, and Joe Krueger; great-grandchildren Abbigail, Annika, Abram, Amelia, Haley, Isla, Audrey, Krimson, Khloe, Kooper, Alissah, Keira, Jackson, Easton, Harper, Brooklyn, Carter, Grady and Finley; brother-in-law, James Moran Australia, sister-in-law Bernice Goulet, brother-in-law William Persson; and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton; her parents; and her brothers Lawrence Goulet and Leo Goulet.
