Dallas Wikstrom, 81
Thief River Falls – Dallas Wikstrom, 81, of Thief River Falls, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh.
Funeral to celebrate his life was held at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Interment was held at Wikstrom Cemetery near Strandquist.
Dallas Lloyd Wikstrom was born on July 23, 1934 in East Park Township, Marshall County, the son of Arvid and Hattie (Borsvold) Wikstrom. He attended Holt and Strandquist schools.
On July 28, 1973, he married Carol Ann Rud. In his younger years, Dallas worked for area farmers, the railroad, and most of his career was road construction. He most recently worked for Pennington County Highway Department until his retirement as a road grader operator.
He enjoyed deer hunting, stock car racing, working in the yard, dining out, having coffee and visiting with family and friends.
Dallas is survived by son; Milton Wikstrom, (Sharon), of Alexandria, grandchildren; Adam Wikstrom, Jodi Krey, (Tim) and Brandi Hanson; six great-grandchildren; Lauren, Kevin, Carter, Jordan, Avery, and Lexus; sisters, Beulah Wikstrom, Myrtle Janssen, and Helaine (Carl) Hanson; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol on Feb. 24, 2008; parents; twin brother, Dennis Wikstrom, great-granddaughter, Serena Lee; brother-in-law, George Janssen; and nephew, Marty Janssen.
Dallas will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
