Thief River Falls – Larry Wayne Anenson Sr., 71, passed away on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at his home in Thief River Falls, after a long battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Frank Ehling officiating.  Interment will follow at Telemarken Cemetery, rural Goodridge.
  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Larry Anenson Sr. was born on Aug. 31, 1944 in Thief River Falls, the son of Henry and Christina Anenson.
Larry grew up on a farm in Goodridge. In 1963, he graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls. After high school, he worked various jobs and also helped his dad on the farm.
Larry married Sandra Ranum in 1966 in Sisston, S.D. They were happily married for almost 50 years. They moved to California and he worked road construction until 1979, when he moved the family back to Thief River Falls. He worked road construction and Arctic Cat until his retirement.
Larry enjoyed many activities which included deer hunting with his brother Vernon and his nephews. Larry loved to grow a large garden and raise pigs every year. He loved to cut wood for the winter and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to watch the Minnesota Vikings and he was a true fan of theirs.
Larry is survived by his loving spouse Sandra of Thief River Falls; his children, Lori (Shane) Bothum of Karlstad, Larry Anenson Jr. of Moorhead, Gary Anenson of Thief River Falls, Geri Saragosa of Thief River Falls, and Terry Anenson of Thief River Falls; siblings, Orlene (John) Marshal of Florida, Arlis (Ron) Proulx of East Grand Forks, Burnell Nynas of Tuscan, Ariz., Barbara Manson of Rosemount, Vernon (Pat) Anenson of Thief River Falls, Christy (Fred) Mendoza of Tuscan, Ariz., Robert (Jane) Anenson of Mounds View; sister-in-law Susan (Robert) Brekke of Billings, Mont.; brother-in-laws Edward Pickler and Bob Gulbranson; grandchildren, Ashley, Beau, Tyler, Jenna, Marcella and Liam; great-grandchildren Alysha, Hailey and Molly and also many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mavis Pickler and Brenda Gulbranson; mother and fathers-in-law Stanley and Violet Ranum; brothers-in law Roger Ranum and Virgil Ranum; son-in-law Thomas Saragosa Jr.
