Irene M. Lehr

Irene M. Lehr, 99, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. J.J. Morgan Officiating. Interment ill be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Irene Marie Lehr was born Aug. 18, 1916 at Petersburg, N.D., the daughter of Andrew W. and Syneva (Berdahl) Ohnstad. She attended school at Petersburg.
On Dec. 18, 1936, she was united in marriage to Marvin Milton Lehr at Lehr, N.D. The couple made their home in the Lehr area. They lived in Fargo, Casselton and Grand Forks, N.D., finally settling in Thief River Falls.
Irene enjoyed reading, crocheting, needlepoint, gardening and cooking. She excelled at all of them. Most of all, she loved her dogs and her boys.
Irene is survived by her children, Gary Milton Lehr of Edina and Steven Andrew Lehr of Thief River Falls; daughters-in-law, Linda Lehr of Thief River Falls, and Tanya Lehr of Minnetonka; grandchildren, Catherine (Steven) Hale of Los Angeles, Karna (Brent) Rice of Excelsior, Timothy Lehr of Fargo, Kristine Rees of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kelly Lehr of Phoenix; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Lauren, Tucker, Carly, Emily, Ashley, Elle Kate and Nikita; sister, Agnes Johnson of Grand Forks and sister-in-law, Idamae Ohnstad of Grand Forks, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; sons, Richard and Llewellyn; siblings, Mable Espegard, Eric Ohnstad, Walter Ohnstad, Selma Chambers; daughters-in-law, Eileen Lehr and Mary Lehr; and granddaughter-in-law Maria Kalmanov.
