Raymond Clifford Barth was born on January 14, 1920 at home in Wilkin County, MN, the son of Henry and Sophia Barth. He attended country school and helped out on the family farm.

On November 11, 1944 he was united in marriage to Bernice Louise Schillinger in St. Gall's Church in Tintah, MN. They made their home in Campbell, MN. To this union were born 9 children: Gary Lee, Clifford Wayne, Pamela Jean, Michael Ray, David Anthony, Glen Allen, William Joseph, Dale Robert, and Annette Marie. Raymond farmed and trapped here until 1969 when they purchased a farm northeast of Thief River Falls, MN. Here is where they resided to present. Raymond farmed and worked raising their children. Throughout the years they had many kinds of crops, turkeys, chickens, pigs, cows, sheep and horses. He semi-retired in 2001.

He and Bernice purchased a place in Apache Junction in Mesa, AZ, where they would spend their winters for the next 15 years with their son Gary and his family and many friends and relatives from the Campbell and Breckenridge and Thief River Falls, MN areas. Swimming, playing cards, shuffle board and sight-seeing.

He was a member of the National Farmers Organization (NFO), the local Farmers Union where he was the President, the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and a gun training instructor. He was an active member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church where he was on the church council for many years and ushered many of the Sunday services.

His hobbies were going hunting and fishing, children and friends making memories to last a lifetime. Whether it be by home, at the family cabin in Skime, MN, or at the Beltrami State Forest. They fished at Waskish, Lake of the Woods, MN, and Ontario, Canada. In the later years he enjoyed gardening and yard work. But most of all Ray especially loved his family and was extremely proud of his beloved wife of 71 years, Bernice.

Ray is survived by his loving wife Bernice of Thief River Falls, MN and his nine children; Gary (Ruth) of Apache Junction, AZ, Clifford (Krista) Barth of Breckenridge, MN, Pamela (Tom) Oscarson of Red Lake Falls, MN, Michael (Marilyn) of Rapelje, MT, David (Lois) of Warroad, MN, William of Viking, MN, Dale (Marguerite) of Thief River Falls, MN, and Annette Barth (special friend Ryan Shirley) of Thief River Falls, MN; 19 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren; sister, Mildred Tessmer of Fargo, ND; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
