Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Interment will be held at Breezy Point Cemetery in Breezy Point, MN.
Renee Rose Zeman was born on May 30, 1938 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of John Henry and Ann Rose (Kadlec) Zeman. She was baptized into the catholic faith at Pisek, ND. She lived in North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin until her fourth grade year, when the family moved to Fargo, ND where she continued her schooling. Renee was confirmed at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fargo, ND, and she graduated from St. Anthony’s grade school. She graduated from Shanley High School in the class of 1957 and attended Moorhead State College.
1958, Renee was united in marriage to Kenneth Wiebolt at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fargo, ND. To this union three children were born, Mike, Mark and Scott. The family lived in Moorhead, MN while Ken graduated with a Master’s Degree from Moorhead State University, and later moved with Kenneth’s work to Carrington, ND, Neilsville, WI, Minot, ND and in 1968 Thief River Falls, MN.
Through the years, Renee did many jobs including working daycare in Fargo and Minot, secretary at St. Johns Hospital in Fargo, managed the toy department at Delendrecies, worked in Fargo City Directory, and in Thief River Falls worked at Inter County Nursing for 23 years, and the Credit Bureau of Thief River Falls. Renee was also passionate about selling real-estate.
She enjoyed gardening, furniture restoration, home decorating, sewing, shopping for bargains, traveling, and especially taking care of and spending time with her family and friends — God’s greatest gift!
In October of 1986, Renee was united in marriage to Raymond Hedlund at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN, where the couple has continued to reside.
Renee was active in cub scouts, TRFAHA, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church where she taught religion class, served on the funeral committee and guild, Ray’s music sessions, Zehlians, the hospital auxiliary, and Meals-on-Wheels.
Survivors include her loving husband, Raymond of Thief River Falls; children, Mike (Jani) Wiebolt, Mark (Holly) Wiebolt, Scott Wiebolt, Connie (Tony) Dorn, and Laurie (Greg) Carpenter; 8 grandchildren, Michael, Ben, and Haley Wiebolt, Tony Ray and Alie Dorn, Patrick (Laurin) Johnson, Christopher (Brittany) Johnson, Dustin Carpenter…they are my greatest love!; great-grandchildren, Andi Jane Johnson, Tony Charles Dorn, and Clarke James Johnson; brother, Keith Zeman; step-sister, Kathy McConnell; step-brother, Pat Kennicott; aunt, Rose Pavek; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Kenneth Wiebolt; step-father, Robert Kennicott niece, Valerie Zeman; and brother, Gene (Erline) Zeman.
