Thief River Falls – Steven Groslie, Thief River Falls, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, N.D., surrounded by family, at the age of 61.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Rev. John Golv officiating. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday.
Steven Michael Groslie was born June 26, 1955 in Thief River Falls, the son of LeRoy and Doris (Langer) Groslie. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Steve attended Knox Elementary School and Lincoln High School.
Steve worked at Evans Seed and Produce and also Northern Pride, both in Thief River Falls.
In 1975, Steve was united in marriage to Wanda Holmgren in St. Hilaire, MN. The couple resided in Thief River Falls. The couple was blessed with two children: Melissa and Mark.
Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, visiting friends, time at the cabin, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Missy (Pat Thompson) Beier of Thief River Falls; grandchildren, Breanna (Tra) Ewalt, Trentyn Groslie, Kira Beier, and Addison Clow all of Thief River Falls; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Harper, and Karissa; sister, Julie (Ron) Madison of Brainerd; nephews and nieces, Steve (Janell) Madison of East Gull Lake, Eric Groslie of Maple Lake, Jill Anderson of Fargo, N.D., and Beth (Kevin) Halme of Middle River; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark; his parents, LeRoy and Doris; brothers, Lyle, George, and Larry; and nephew, Mike Madison.
