    Grygla – Penelope Warne, 96, Grygla, died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Thief River Care Center, Thief River Falls.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, with Rev. Vicki Worthington officiating. Interment will follow at Valle Cemetery, rural Grygla.
    Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25 at Grace Lutheran Church.
    Penelope Elizabeth Rogers was born March 20, 1920, in Faris to George and Zerelda (Sutton) Rogers.  The family lived in the Fourtown area, where she attended rural school. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla.
    Penelope met the love of her life at a dance in Fourtown and on Nov. 12, 1939, she was united in marriage to Allen “Jack” Warne near Fourtown. The couple made their home near Grygla and then Northwood Township, where they had a small crop and dairy farm from 1944 to 1980. They retired and moved west of Grygla until 2005, when Jack passed away. Penelope moved to an apartment in Grygla until 2013, when she moved to Thief River Care Center.
    Penelope and Allen enjoyed dancing and were married for 65 years. She enjoyed living on the farm and raising her children.  Penelope also enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning, baking, playing cards, putting puzzles together and visiting with her friends.
    Penelope is survived by her children Lorraine Stenvik of Goodridge, Darrel (Sophie) Warne of Badger, Lowell (Barb) Warne of Grygla, and Debbie (Ralph) Cox of Menahga; grandchildren, Lynn (Jan) Stenvik, Scott (Gwen) Stenvik, Brad (special friend, Cassie) Stenvik, Randy (Dawn) Stenvik, Arlen (special friend, Christine) Stenvik, Dion (Laura) Warne, Stacey (Heidi) Warne, Kent (Lori) Warne, Rick (Melanie) Warne, Kevin (Lisa) Warne, Kristi (Craig) Wawrzyniak, Justin Cox, and Jessica (Dustin) Patton; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; grandson, Keith; son-in-law, Norman; her parents; sister/sisters-in-law and brothers/brothers-in-law.
