Brainerd – Helen Vivian Tweten Helm passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Brainerd.  
A private memorial service for Helen’s children and their families will be held at the Memorial Cemetery in Grand Forks, N.D.  
She was born on Feb. 28, 1927 to Gunder and Hilma (Johnson) Tweten in East Grand Forks, where she grew up and graduated with the class of ’45 from Central High School.  
She worked at Northwestern Bell until her marriage to Dr. Ralph Helm on Nov. 28, 1947. They made their home in Thief River Falls, for 41 years until their retirement to Park Rapids on Two Inlets Lake. They traveled the entire country and Canada with their beloved golden retriever Sandy until Ralph’s passing in 2004.
Helen is survived by four children, Kathy (Mark Nephew) Siwek, Kristy (John) Buck, Kerry (Jim) Seim and Rod (Jolene) Helm; seven grandchildren,  Shawn (Stephanie) Siwek, Jennifer (Ben) Peterson, JC Buck, Dan Seim, Michelle (Ben) Shamrokh, Alexa and Charlie Helm; six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Macey and Alyssa Peterson, Connor and Lauren Siwek and Samantha Shamrokh; and the greatest brother ever, Henry G. Tweten of East Grand Forks. 
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved parents and five siblings, Dorothy Hauser, Alvin Tweten, Dora Glimsdahl, Olga Sannes and Johnny Tweten.
