        Laurie Kay (Walker) Zolondek, 53, passed  away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital  in Duluth.
        A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth. Visitation will be held at the Society for one hour prior to the service.
    She was born May 19, 1963, in Aurora to Albert L. and Jeanette (Srnsky) Walker. Laurie attended school in Thief River Falls for K-10, graduating in Sartell in 1981.
    Laurie was active in 4-H, Vacation Bible School and singing with the Black River Singers (in her early teens).  She was an avid record collector. She worked at various jobs before getting her human services technician degree at Anoka AVTI in 1984. She worked with the mentally disabled at the East Grand Forks Group Home.  Laurie married Paul David Zolondek July 24, 1993. They lived in East Grand Forks and Watford City, N.D., before moving to Duluth in 1998.
    Preceding her in death were her father Albert, her brother Gary, and her nephew Ronnie. Laurie is survived by her husband Paul Zolondek; her mother Jeanette Walker; two brothers Stephen (Nancy) Walker of Duluth, and Daniel (Jeanne) Walker of Winner; sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; friends; and her cat Callie.
    The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital for the extraordinary care they provided Laurie.
