Thief River Falls – Nellie “Nell” Storhaug, 84, of Thief River Falls, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh. 
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.  Thursday, November 10, at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, with Reverend Ale Tulu officiating.  Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church on Thursday.
Nellie Mae Goodrich was born April 17, 1932 in Barnett Township of Roseau County, to Charles Goodrich and Julia (Nesland) Goodrich. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Greenbush and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Greenbush High School in 1950 and completed training in 1951 to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). After training she worked as an LPN at Greenbush Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, at Northwest Medical Center and later the Falls Clinic, both in Thief River Falls.  She was united in marriage in Moorhead on April 1st of 1957 to Robert Storhaug of Thief River Falls where they made their home. 
Nell was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She served as a Girl Scout Leader, and she served for a time on the Soo Line Credit Union Board.  
Nell is survived by her two daughters, Claire Garcia, Waite Park, Minnesota and Kelly Storhaug, Thief River Falls, Minnesota; one granddaughter, Sara Rogich (Ed), Garretson, South Dakota, and one great-granddaughter, Nobel Nothstine also of Garretson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert; sisters Adeline Lusignan, Lillah Johnson,  Challotta Peterson and her brother, Basil Stavenes.
