Finstad runs in state cross country meet

It was a 76th place finish in a 175-runner field for Thief River Falls freshman Jerzie Finstad during the Class AA girls portion of the 2016 Minnesota state high school crosss country meet.
The boys and girls Class A and AA races were held Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
Finstad covered the 5,000-meter course in 20:10.8.
The individual Class AA girls winner was Anna Fenske, an eighth grader from Farmington, who was clocked in 17:41.5.
Finstad was the only Thief River Falls runner to advance from the Section 8AA meet to state competition.
