It was a 3-0 opening week for the 2016-17 Thief River Falls girls high school hockey team.
The Prowlers, who beat Detroit Lakes 9-2 in an Tuesday debut at the Ralph Engelstad Arena and picked up a 3-2 Thursday road win at Bemidji, finished a busy and successful Week 1 with a 4-1 Saturday afternoon victory over Moorhead back at the REA.
Kora Torkelson scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Prowlers past the Spuds. Shelby Breiland collected three assists while Tessa Jorde and Callie Fagerstrom joined Torkelson in the goal-scoring department.
Thief River Falls led 2-1 at the end of the first period, then tacked on single goals in the next two frames.
Mariah Nelson handled the goaltending duties for the Prowlers, who out-shot the Spuds 22-18.
