Thief River Falls boys high school hockey team will make its 2016-17 home debut Friday with a 7:30 p.m. match-up against Tartan at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
It will be the third straight meeting with a Twin Cities area team for the 1-2 Prowlers, who are coming off a weekend road trip that included losses to The Blake School and Totino-Grace.
The Bears beat Thief River Falls 6-3 Friday night. The Eagles won 4-1 Saturday afternoon.
Blake scored three first period goals and out-shot Thief River Falls 30-18 for the game. The Prowlers trailed 3-1 after one period and faced a 5-1 second period deficit.
All three Thief River Falls goals were scored by Aaron Myers. His two third period goals came on a shorthanded situation and a power play.
It was more of the same the next day when the Prowlers again spotted their opponent three first period goals. 
Totino-Grace carried the 3-0 advantage into the third period. The Thief River Falls goal was scored by Zach Lee.
Thief River Falls goalie Nick Corneliusen faced 40 shots. The Prowlers put 22 shots on goal.
