Moorhead – Wallace “Wally” Ray Lane, 82, of Moorhead, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Villa Maria in Fargo, N.D. 
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Burial will take place on Friday, December 9, at 12:30 p.m. at Landstad Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Wally was born on January 12, 1934 to Eckard and Nada (Olson) Lane in Thief River Falls. He attended High School in Thief River Falls and from there joined the Army where he was part of the 82nd Airborne for three years. After his military career, he married Gladys Hanson on September 8, 1953 in Viking. Wally worked a variety of sales positions which would include Jungs Bakery and Nashs Coffee in Thief River Falls and Frito Lays and Hornbacher’s in Fargo-Moorhead. 
Wally had a passion for Barbershop Singing and was most notably part of the group, the FM Ambassadors and several quartets. He enjoyed square dancing and played Golf and Tennis.
Survivors include his daughter, Diane (Rodney) Monk; son, Dan Lane; Grandchildren, KaDe, McKenzy, Walker, and Preston Lane; Sister, Joyce Ann Whaley of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; parents; granddaughter, Lindsey Lane; brothers, Burton, William, Russell, and Richard Lane.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Sanford Dialyses Center as well as the Hospice of the Red River Valley and the staff that helped Wally.
