Kylea Praska is the newest member of the Thief River Falls girls high school basketball 1,000-Point Club.
The 5-7 junior guard hit that milestone on the nose Friday with a 26-point effort that helped the Prowlers beat host Hibbing 50-39.
A three-year varsity starter, Praska joined the prestigious scoring group while shooting free throws with less than a minute to go in the game.
Praska’s efforts sparked a Thief River Falls comeback that turned a nine-point halftime deficit into an 11-point victory.
The Prowlers trailed 27-18 at the break, but they outscored the Bluejackets 32-12 over the final 18 minutes.
Tiahna Nicholson had a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double to complement Praska’s scoring feat.
Hibbing was led by Lizzy Toumi with 12 points.
Thief River Falls shot 48 percent from the field (20/42) and went 4-for-8 at the free throw line. Hibbing shot only 30 percent from the floor (17/56) while making all four of its free throw attempts.
The Prowlers lost the rebound battle 26-23 and topped the turnover charts 16-12.
