North Pole, Alaska – Adeline Irene Stenvik Peterson, 73, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at her daughter’s home in Red Bluff, Calif., where she liked to spend the winters.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 4, at at North Pole Worship Center, North Pole, Alaska. A reception will follow.
Adeline Irene Stenvik, the daughter of Reuben and Florence (Rindahl) Stenvik, was born in the Goodridge area on July 21, 1932. She was raised in Reiner Township and graduated from Goodridge High School.
Addie and her husband, Glenn, headed to Alaska numerous times before deciding to make North Pole, Alaska their home in 1969. Addie was trained as a nurse and worked several other jobs until her retirement in 1991. In the winters Addie and Glenn would head to Las Vegas for three to four months until he passed away. In the past several years Addie spent her winters in California and summers in her beloved Alaska.
She enjoyed the bright lights and action in Vegas, but loved Alaska where she spent time playing Bingo and cards with her Bingo buddies. Addie loved to cook, crochet and do crafts. Her greatest love was family get-togethers. Addie was a kind and gentle spirit who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by daughters, Cheryl Anderson and Lori Holmes; sons, Greg, Lon, Jon and Mark Peterson; sisters, Betty Coan and Deloris Vraa; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Addie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Glenn Peterson; mother and father, Florence and Rueben Stenvik; and her brother, Robert Stenvik.
