Thief River Falls – Mary Reierson, 62 of Thief River Falls, died tragically in an automobile accident on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
    Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.  Burial was held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
    Mary Louise Hall was born on May 31, 1954 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Bruce and Helen (Sandum) Hall.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.  She attended St. Bernard’s Catholic School through the eighth grade and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1972.  In the early years, Mary worked at Halls Floral, the family business.  
    On June 15, 1973, Mary was united in marriage to Garret Reierson at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.  The couple made their home on the Reierson Family Farm in New Solum Township and Mary made an easy transition from being a florist’s daughter to a farmer’s bride.  Mary was always busy working alongside of her husband Garret on the farm.  
    Mary worked with the Northwest Ag Action Committee, Minnesota Mediation Program and the Farm Advocate Program since the early 1980s. She helped numerous people and was highly respected in all sectors of the agriculture community throughout the state of Minnesota. She was actively working in this capacity during the time of her passing.
    Utmost to Mary was her faith, family, friends and serving others. She was a very positive person with a welcoming smile, always a peacekeeper and was an angel among us.  Mary had a special talent to bring people together and would listen to anyone.  She was an amazing wife, mom & grandma!
    She was a very active member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, serving in many capacities.  Mary served passionately on the Board of the Life Care Center for nearly 20 years.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and served many years as Treasurer on the New Solum Township Board.
    Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Garret Reierson; daughter, Lisa (Jonathan) Hams; son, Jarod (Natasha) Reierson; grandchildren, Jaxon & Knute Hams, Rylie & Mariah Reierson all of Thief River Falls; father, Bruce (Audrey) Hall of Grey Eagle; siblings, Deb (Rick) Kelim of Westminster, CO, Tom (Vivian) Hall of Crookston, Steve Hall of Bemidji, Greg (Missy) Hall of Thief River Falls and Jon (Peggy) Hall of Hutchinson; uncle, Jim (Jan) Hall of Grey Eagle; cousins, Jill (Cliff) Tabke, Jim (Nicole) Hall II, and Jason (Michelle) Hall; Garret’s family; and many other relatives and friends.
    She is preceded in death by her infant twin grandchildren; mother, Helen; brother, Robert “Bobby”; grandparents, Herman and Edith Sandum and Orrin and Louise Hall; father-in-law, LeRoy Reierson and mother-in-law, Gladys A. Anderson.
