Fargo – Lawrence H. Skiple, 95, Fargo, passed away  on   Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at his home.
    Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church, Fargo, followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery.
    Lawrence was born on December 26, 1921 to Mabel and Bennie Skiple on the family farm near Mentor.
    He grew up on the family farm and attended school until the eighth grade. At the age of 17, he took over running the farm due to his father’s health.
    On May 23,1953, he was united in marriage to Edna Fladhammer at the Gosen Lutheran Church in McIntosh. They lived on the farm until 1960 when they moved to Crookston where Lawrence worked for the J.E. Schraeder Company as the auto parts manager.
    In 1973 the family moved to Red Lake Falls where Lawrence worked for Thibert Chevrolet and Big "A" Auto Parts until retiring in 1984. He continued to be active after retirement, working as a carpenter, driving school bus, and working at several Red Lake Falls area businesses.
    He also volunteered as an EMT for the RLF Ambulance. Lawrence and Edna moved to Fargo in 2005. He loved to hunt, fish, garden, travel, play cards, and spend time with his family and friends.
    Lawrence is survived by his wife Edna, of Fargo, ND; his children: Diane (Keith) Kron, Paola, KS; Mike, Grand Forks, ND; Scott (Jackie), Beavercreek, OH; Steve, Bismarck, ND; Craig (Linda), Fargo, ND; Darin, Waconia; Jason (Anita), Fargo, ND; and Richard, Fargo, ND; along with 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Alice, a son, Brian, and numerous cousins.
