Thief River Falls – Kenneth Swanson, 92, longtime resident of Thief River Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017 in Rogers.
Kenny’s lifelong passions were faith, family, and farming. He was a lifelong member at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls. As an active grandfather, Ken treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, watching and participating in their sporting events and other school functions. Kenny enjoyed a “pick-up” basketball game with his children and grandchildren until the ripe age of 90.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris; children, Petra (Dan) Brodin, Paulette McIntyre, Craig (Lisa), and Faye (Chuck) Johnson; grandchildren, Erika (Nils), Chris, Brittany (Brent), Case, Brady, Jessica, Jennie, Nicole, Brandon, and Sean; great-grandchildren, Matias, Lucas, Maya, Olivia, Landon, Cameron, and Jaden; sister, Lorraine (Paul) Sjulson and other family and friends.
Preceded in death by his sister, Doris (Harris) Johnson; grandsons, Cody and Alex McIntyre.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, with visitation beginning an hour prior to service.
