    Newfolden – Janette Weber of Newfolden, passed away at the age of 84 on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Essentia Health in Fosston, surrounded by her loving family.
    Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, with Pastor Cathie Rhodes officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Newfolden.
    Janette Lavern (Bakke) Weber was born on June 14, 1932 in Marsh Grove Township near Newfolden, the daughter of Bertil and Clara (Engelsrud) Bakke. In the Lutheran Faith, Janette was baptized in 1932 and confirmed on August 12, 1945.  She attended country school and graduated from Newfolden High School in 1950. On October 30, 1953 Janette was united in marriage to Douglas Weber in Newfolden.
    Janette worked as a switchboard operator for her aunt and uncle, Andy and Agnes Bakke. She worked various jobs until 1972 when she started her longtime employment at Sethre’s in Newfolden, retiring from there after 35 years.
    Janette was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, attending to the flowers inside and outside the church. She was also a lifetime member of Bethania, attending many events and activities there.
    Janette enjoyed going for rides, watching the Game Show Network and RFD TV, doing word search puzzles, playing BINGO, and socializing at the potato dumpling dinners in Newfolden and Viking. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, family, and friends.
    Janette is survived by her children, Mark (Becky) Weber of Argyle, Dean Weber of Newfolden, Dawn (Gary) Donarski of Newfolden, Mike Weber of Newfolden, and Marie (Wayne) Hamre of Bemidji; grandchildren, Chris (Elizabeth) Donarski of Hitterdal, Chad (Laura) Donarski of Newfolden, Tony Donarski and special friend, Adrienne Spicer of Thief River Falls, Alyssa Donarski of Thief River Falls, Aaron Hamre of Bemidji, and Ben Hamre of Bemidji; six great-grandchildren and one due in September; sisters, Betty Amiot of Thief River Falls, and Vernice Nelson of Thief River Falls; brother, Dennis (Joanie) Bakke of Thief River Falls; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; parents, Bertil and Clara Bakke; sister-in-law, Karon Bakke; brothers-in-law, Leo Nelson and Clarence Amiot.
