Winifred “Winnie” C. Treitline, 74

Plummer & Lakeville – Winifred “Winnie” C. Treitline, 74, passed away with her family by her side the evening of Tuesday, April 18, 2017.  Winnie died from health complications resulting from a recent stroke.
    Winnie was born June 26, 1942, in West Hartford, Connecticut. Living there until her early 20’s, she and a girlfriend moved to San Jose, CA. This is where she met her former husband, William Treitline. They moved to Minnesota and North Dakota had two children and raised them in Plummer.
    Winnie worked at the Plummer School District as a secretary for many years. One of her biggest accomplishments, in addition to her children, was when she took the next step to finish her college degree at the Univ of North Dakota, receiving her B.S. in Information Technology in 1990, after approximately 30 years from when she first started college.
    In August of 1993, Winnie decided a new adventure was needed and she moved to Anchorage, AK, 5 months after her daughter had moved there. She landed a job within a week of arriving in AK, working at the Univ of AK, Anchorage. After a few months at UAA she moved into the position of Admin Asst to the Dean of Library Sciences, which she thoroughly enjoyed until her retirement in 2011.
    In 2012, Winnie moved to Lakeville to be closer to her son and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sudoko, crocheting and most of all, sewing baby quilts and donating them to her church for baptisms in Anchorage and Lakeville.
    Winnie is dearly loved and missed. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Rita & Bill Herren, Braselton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Erika & Brian Marasco, Anchorage, AK; son, William Treitline, Farmington; four grandchildren, Allison Treitline, Tylir Treitline, Hayden Treitline and Mackenzie Huygens; sister-in-laws, Sandy Treitline, Arlys Moody, Evie Treitline, brother-in-law Donald Treitline and many loving nieces and nephews.
