Stanwood, WA & Thief River Falls – Kenneth Jorgenson, 93, of Stanwood, WA, formerly of Thief River Falls, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.
    Memorial services were held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Gilbertson Funeral Home in Stanwood, WA.
    Ken was born on July 29, 1923 in rural Marshall County, the second oldest of 10 boys. His family is very proud of his WWII service where he was an army paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division.
    Ken was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 and received a Purple Heart. Ken was a lifetime member of the VFW and the DAV.
    After the service, Ken worked in construction, operating heavy machinery. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers since 1955.
    Ken married June Van de Streek on March 8, 1959. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a leader of Cub and Boy Scouts for his three boys.
    Ken is survived by his loving wife June of 58 years, sons Paul (Gwen) of Phoenix, AZ, Brian of North Branch, Gary (Tammy) of Stanwood, WA; grandchildren: Ryan, Sean, Alicia of WA, Blake of North Branch, and great-grandchildren: Roman, Ireland of WA, Aria and Olivia.
    Also surviving are brothers Roy, Albert, Wesley, Milton, Lyle, and Morris.
