No swimming recommended now at the beach

The city of Thief River Falls is recommending no swimming at the Bill LaFave Park beach. That recommendation came Friday due to the amount of goose dung, formation of algae and lack of rain in the area.

“We’re just erring on the side of caution,” said Mike Olson, Thief River Falls parks and arena foreman.

Olson expected that a rainfall of a couple inches may lead the city to lift the ban.
