Grygla – Ralph Lee of Grygla, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his residence in rural Beltrami County, at the age of 80.
    A memorial service to honor Ralph’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, with Rev. Vicki Worthington officiating. Interment will follow at Northwood Cemetery, rural Grygla.
    Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
    Ralph Sidney Lee, the son of Harland P. Lee and Anna (Hanson) Lee was born on September 14, 1936 at home on Moose River Farm in Northwood Township, rural Grygla. He was baptized and confirmed at Northwood Lutheran Church.  
    Ralph attended Big Grass School through 7th grade.  When the school merged with Grygla, Ralph completed 8th grade at Grygla School.  
    Ralph worked on the family farm until 1959 when he entered the U.S. Army, where he completed his GED in 1960. He was honorably discharged in 1962.
    Ralph returned to the farm where he and his brother, Kenneth raised beautiful beef cattle, milk cows, and grain. He took great pride in the farm.  Most recently he and his brother decided to have the barn renovated.
    Ralph was so proud of the way it turned out – even giving tours if requested. He was also very proud of his home and yard with many flower beds.
    Ralph is survived by his brothers, Kenneth of Warroad, Vernon (Arlene) of Cloquet, Gerald (Betty) of Grand Marais, Leland (Carol) of St. Cloud; sisters, Delilah Anderson of Kalona, IA, Jeanne Brenna of Cloquet, and Judith (Duane) Kotrba of Thief River Falls; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and friends.
    He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl, Harland, and George; sister, Cerise Swanson.
