Clearbrook – Lorraine Tveitbakk, 92, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Brethren Church in Clearbrook, with Reverend Adam Krog officiating. Burial will be held at Elim Church Cemetery near Clearbrook.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Elim Lutheran Brethren Church.
Lorraine Mavis Larson was born February 24, 1925 at Clearbrook, daughter of Axel Edward and Ellen (Fellman) Larson. She was baptized May 26, 1925 at Seljord Lutheran Church. She was raised at Clearbrook where she attended Beard Elementary and graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1942.
On November 6, 1942, Lorraine was united in marriage to Louis Tveitbakk in Crookston. The couple made their home in Clearbrook where they raised their four children.
In the fall of 1967, Lorraine attended Northland Community College and received her LPN degree in the spring of 1968. Following graduation, she worked at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Clearbrook for many years.
Lorraine enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, singing, traveling and reading. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, Mission Friends and a Bible Study Group.
Lorraine is survived by her children: Larry (Candy) Tveitbakk of Bellevue, NE, Linda (Neil) Nelson of Boring, OR, David (Rosemary) Tveitbakk of South St. Paul, and Darryl (Deborah) Tveitbakk of Thief River Falls; grandchildren: Alan (Denise), Karen (Rick), Dawn (Donnie), Jared, Derek (Jen), Tara (Pat), Peter, Chris (Petra), Nick (Mary), Ben; 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren: sister Phyllis Nelson of East Grand Forks, along with several nieces and nephews.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband Louis, granddaughter Christina, parents Axel and Ellen Larson, and brothers Curtis and John Raymond.
Memorials are suggested to the Elim Lutheran Church or the Clearbrook Senior Center.
