    Thief River Falls – Connie Ferber, 91, of Thief River Falls, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 with her family by her side at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls.
    Memorial Service to celebrate Connie’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, with Rev. John Golv and Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will take place at First Lutheran Cemetery, Fergus Falls.  
    Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Thursday.
    Connie Rebecca Trosvig was born on the farm outside of Rothsay, on March 27, 1926, the daughter of Helmer and Pearl (Peterson) Trosvig. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in Pelican Rapids.
    Connie attended school in Fergus Falls and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1943. Following high school, she worked at Fergus Falls National Bank.
    On June 6, 1943, Connie was united in marriage to Erwin Henry Frederick Ferber in Alexandria. To this union five children were born: Rebecca, Karen, Debra, Carl and Ruth. After Erwin returned from his service in the United States military, they made their home in Fergus Falls before moving to Thief River Falls.
    Connie and Erv were members of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
    Connie worked for Union State Bank in Thief River Falls for about seven years and then worked for Farmers Home Administration for the next 27 years, retiring in 1991.   
    After Erv’s retirement in 1982, the couple returned to Fergus Falls. Erwin passed away in 1995 and Connie then returned to Thief River Falls to be closer to her children and many lifetime friends.
    Connie was an active member of the women’s ministries in church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Business and Professional Women’s organization and served as president for both.  
    In 2010, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees presented Connie with a national award for her distinguished service as a Federal Employee. Connie directed the Senior Citizens Center when it opened in Fergus Falls.
    Connie and Erwin enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. Connie  also enjoyed baking, reading, and writing poetry. Family always came first for Connie; she treasured time spent with them.  
    Survivors include her loving children, Rebecca (Guy) Sternal, University Place, WA, Karen (Gary) Rustin, Mantorville, Debra (Roger) Hoversten, Thief River Falls, and Ruth (Keith) Christensen, Thief River Falls; grandchildren, Philip (Nora), Jeffrey (Jen), Ryan (Sherry), Katie (Randy), David (Laura), Daniel, Brea (Jeff), Ashley (Brian), and Brady; great-grandchildren, Wade, Paige, Jace, Ava, Frankie, Edie, Parker, Kora, Emery, Arley, Tristan and Morgan; brother, Rick (Linda) Trosvig and sister-in-law, Pat Trosvig, Ft. Wayne, IN, and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Ferber of Thief River Falls; and other relatives and friends.
    Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Erwin; son, Carl; granddaughter, Gwendolyn Olson; parents; brothers, Howard and Lloyd.
