Thief River Falls – Margaret Louise Kne of Thief River Falls, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls at the age of 93.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thief River Falls. Interment was held at Chisholm Cemetery, Chisholm.
Margaret Louise Farac was born April 15, 1924 in Glen Location, rural Chisholm, to Anton and Mary (Tilke) Farac. As a child, she attended schools at Glen, Brooklyn and Monroe locations before the family moved to Chisholm. She graduated with the class of 1942 from Chisholm High School.
On June 4, 1949 Margaret was united in marriage to Frank Kne Jr. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm. She worked as a grocery clerk and power machine operator in Chisholm and St. Cloud, the auditor’s office in Aitkin.
In 1957, Margaret and Frank moved to Thief River Falls. For over 25 years, Margaret worked as a secretary at Knox Elementary School in Thief River Falls. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary, the Heritage Center, and Pennington County Humane Society.
Margaret enjoyed gardening, flowers, bingo, music, observing and feeding birds and squirrels, doing sweepstakes and puzzles, reading the papers and spending time with friends. Her best friend was her dog, Buddy.
Survivors include her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and two brothers-in-law.
Preceding her in death are her husband Frank Jr. on March 3, 1994; her parents; five sisters; three brothers; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; two nieces; and one great nephew.
