Plummer – Emilie Genevieve Skjerven, 78 of Plummer, went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, while enjoying life with one of her close friends, Carol.
Funeral service to celebrate Emilie’s life was held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer. Burial followed at Emardville Cemetery, rural Plummer.

Emilie attended a country elementary school near Windom and in 1948 moved with her family to Oklee. She graduated from Oklee High School with the class of 1957 and then took her Teachers Training in Thief River Falls.
On July 11, 1959, Emilie was united in marriage to Jerry Skjerven at Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee. To this union five children were born: Michael, Melanie, Kathy, Karen and Jerry. They eventually settled on a farm in Emardville Township where Emilie lived the rest of her life.

Emilie loved her family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was always there for their sporting events and enjoyed cheering them on – WHOO, WHOO, WHOO, WHOO!
Emilie enjoyed quilting, baking, polka dancing, playing Whist and Bingo, and admiring her gazing balls in her flower gardens. She was always smiling, laughing and led a very social life.
Emilie had an infectious laugh. With her there was never a dull moment–her personality was fun and energetic. She had a loving heart and a giving soul.
