    Thief River Falls – Betty Molstad, Thief River Falls, age 90, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Fairmont memory unit in Fargo, ND, in her sleep, surrounded by her son Rodney and his wife Barbara at the age of 90 years young.
    Funeral services will be  held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Silver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls, with Reverend Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will be at Silver Creek Lutheran Cemetery.
    Visitation will be 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation will also be  held one hour prior to service at the church Friday.
    Betty Lou Molstad was born July 30, 1927 in St. Hilaire, the daughter of Rupert and Anna Nelson.  Betty’s mom died when she was 1 ½ and was raised by Oliver and Mildred Haugen.
    Betty graduated from Lincoln High and was married to Clebert (Bud) Molstad on November 7, 1948 at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire. They made their home on the Molstad family farm in Steiner Township and continued farming until 1984.  To this union three children were born: Earl, Linda and Rodney. In 1964, they moved to Thief River Falls.
    Betty worked for Arctic Cat for many years. She belonged to Silver Creek Church, the VFW and the Eagles. She enjoyed dancing, socializing and shopping.
    Survivors include her three children: Earl (Catherine) Molstad of Gilbert, WI, Linda (Bert) Hester of Dwardville, IL and Rodney (Barbara Hanson) Molstad of Moorhead; five grandchildren, Darwin, Maureen, Michelle, Jerod, Stephanie; three step- grandchildren: Ann Marie, Pamela, and Heather; granddaughter-in-law, Cassandra; 16 great-grandchildren: Kaitlan, Krista, Jamie, Evan, Abbie, Corbett, Allison, Thomas, Emma, Carson, Clint, Aston, Brandy, Dane, Cole, and Summer; one great-great-grandchild, Isobella; half-sister, Evangeline Streter; three sisters-in-law: Betty Woolman of CA, Dorothy Johnson of Warren, and Marlys Molstad of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces nephews, relatives and friends.
    Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Clebert (Bud) Molstad; parents, Rupert and Anna Nelson; grandson, Chad; brothers, Herbert, Carl, and Ronnie; sisters, Bernice Keksi and Helen Lancette.
