    Thief River Falls – Dawn Olson, 56, of Thief River Falls, died on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
    A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
    Dawn Lynnette Klinke was born on December 22, 1961 in Fairbanks, AK, the daughter of Alan Wesley and Agda Margaret (Nelson) Klinke. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith. The family moved between Alaska, Washington and Minnesota, eventually settling in Thief River Falls in 1971. Dawn attended Washington Elementary, Franklin Middle and Lincoln High Schools in Thief River Falls.
    Dawn became a mother at an early age to Nicole Ann.  On November 8, 1980, she married Donavon Lee Olson Jr. and to this union three children were born: Timothy Keith, Erick Wesley, and Rachel Rae. She enjoyed her time at home raising her children.  
    Following in her mother’s footsteps, Dawn became a Nurse’s Aide at Oakland Park Nursing Home. This was a job she thoroughly enjoyed and loved working with the elderly. She enjoyed doing in-home care for the elderly and disabled. She also worked other various jobs within the community.
    Dawn’s house was a magnet for nieces, nephews, neighborhood kids, dogs, and cats to hang out. She never turned away anybody and had a big warm, welcoming, kind heart.
    Dawn had a wonderful sense of humor, was a very good cook, she enjoyed rummaging at garage sales, shopping with her kids, listening to music, dressing up for Halloween, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren
    Survivors include her husband, Donavon; children: Nicole Klinke (Dan Lade), Timothy Olson, Erick Olson and Rachel Olson (McKenzie, aka, Chuck Belgarde) all of Thief River Falls; grandchildren: Tristan, Elijah, Rainna, Dezi, Ethan, Austin, Brody, Chance and Casyen; siblings: Ronald (Janet) Klinke of Lengby, Lorna Snailum of Battleground, WA, Renae (Robert) Davidson of Middle River, Cheryl (Ricky) Boutain of Moorhead; sisters-in-law: Julie Ann Klinke of Thief River Falls, Delorus Klinke of Wrangell, AK, Sue Klinke of Steptoe, WA; mother-in-law, Eloise Bush of Bagley and her family; her dog, Wednesday; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
    Dawn is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Donald Klinke, Richard Klinke, Ross (Anita) Klinke, and Loren Klinke.
