    Plummer – Michael Robert Brekke, 31, formerly of Plummer, and Billings, MT, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 11, 2018.
    Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with Reverend Stan Nelson officiating. Burial will be held at Clearwater Cemetery Wyandotte Township, Pennington County.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5 – 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
    Michael Robert Brekke was born September 21, 1986 in Cavalier, ND, the son of Robert and Susan (Ranum) Brekke. He attended schools in Cavalier, ND., and Detroit Lakes.
    Michael was a member of Operators Local 49 as an equipment operator out of Minnesota, and was currently working as an inspector on a pipeline project with his dad, Bob, and younger brother, Jonny, in West Virginia.
    Michael loved to hunt, fish and do all kinds of sports. One of his biggest achievements was pitching little league baseball in Cooperstown, NY and when he was inducted into the Boys of Summer Hall of Fame. He loved spending time with family and especially his 4 little girls.
    Another love of Michael’s was BMX racing and snowmobile racing and helping his brother at bull riding events.
    Michael is survived by his parents Bob and Sue Brekke; his special friend, Nikki Skime; their 4 precious girls: Hailey, 11, Alexis, 10, Jayden, 9, and Peyton, 2 all of Billings, MT; his siblings: older sister, Bobbi Sue Brekke from Fargo, ND and younger brother, Jonny Brekke (Mandy Albertson) from Billings, MT; grandmother, Gail Brekke of Thief River Falls, formally Plummer; nephew, Jordan Michael of Fargo, ND, and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
    Michael is preceded in death by: Donald Brekke of Plummer, Stanley and Violet Ranum of Thief River Falls; uncles, Virgil and Roger Ranum of Thief River Falls; and aunt Connie Brekke, of Erskine.
    Michael's favorite saying was: "Yesterday is history, and tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present."
