Arliene W. E. Brown, 84

    Anoka – Arliene W. E. Brown, 84, of Anoka, formerly of Thief River Falls, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
    A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Andover. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
    Private interment will be held at Fort Snelling Cemetery.
    Arliene was born on June 26, 1933, in Golden Valley, ND, and raised in Manning and Killdeer, ND. After graduating, she moved with her family to Fort Ripley and then to Pillager. She worked at Brainerd High School as the principal's assistant. 
    Arliene married her husband of 30 years, Frank Brown Jr., on July 17, 1954, and they eventually settled in Thief River Falls. They had six children and she was a loving wife and mother. 
    After Franks passing in 1984, she met her companion of 32 years, Duane McFarland. Together they traveled and enjoyed time with their families and friends. Eventually they moved to St. Cloud and then to the Twin Cities to be closer to Arliene's family.
    Arliene is survived by children: Bruce (Becky), Brad (Sue), Tami (Gary) Hedlund, Terry (Keith) Olson, Tracy (Roger) Eriksson and Trudi (Martin) Hauble; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; companion of 32 years, Duane McFarland; many other family and friends.
    Arliene is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents, George and Esther Stroming; and brother, Wilbert.
